This is my own childhood system. I bought it new (well, my parents did) in 1984, used it until 1989, and then stored it. Two weeks ago I pulled it out, set it up, switched it on, and was delighted to find that it works perfectly well—so well, in fact, that using it brought back all the memories of what it was like to use it when it was brand new and state-of-the-art. (It helps that it's clean, which makes it feel like it's still new!)
Includes—in original b...oxes, with price tags—the C64 puter, 1541 disk drive with lever (not tab!) and original "travel card" insert, 1702 monitor, Okimate printer.
Also includes 64Modem and a BRAND NEW Atari joystick (not a vintage stick; I ordered it off eBay once I learned that someone is making brand-new Atari 2600 joysticks!). Also also includes a used joystick that doesn't work very well.
I tested a lot of the disks, because boy howdy was I nostalgic for these games. I didn't test every last disk, but every one I tested worked. I did not test the printer or the modem—although, when I loaded GEOS, it appeared to have a driver for the printer (which makes sense, because I only ever used the printer for GeoWrite). You can see that in the screenshot image.
SHIPPING COST: READ ME!!! Improbably, eBay does not allow calculated shipping for two boxes, which this is (one for the monitor, a second for the rest). The shipping charge you see is the maximum possible USPS charge (two 31-pound boxes from California to Maine). If you buy this lot, do not send payment right away; I can send you an invoice with the correct shipping charge to your location, or, if you have your own shipping account, you can send me a label (I can drop off for USPS, UPS, and Fed Ex).
