This listing is for an HP-badged Documation punch card (or punched card, if you prefer) reader, model 2892A, originally used with HP 1000/3000 computer systems, but I see no reason why it couldn't be interfaced to something like a Raspberry Pi today. In fact, it looks like the reference docs are available on bitsavers.org.
This unit is in good physical condition, with no missing or broken parts, HP badge still present, push-buttons move freely. The exterior frame is all aluminum..., and SOLID. The input side appears to be pneumatic (suction), and the output is by rubber rollers, and the rubber appears intact and not a gooey mess. Interior rubber components have not been checked.
Since this is a piece of vintage electronic equipment, it should be given a cursory examination before applying power. I haven't done that, but I trust the buyer will so as not to damage anything, so it's being sold untested, as-is.
It's also quite heavy, and I'd hate to see a piece of history like this damaged, so I'd prefer to sell this as pick-up only in northeast Iowa, or if you line up a person (UShip?) to pick it up, I'd be happy to work with them. Transport by Greyhound Package Express might be an option depending on your location.
Sorry, the questionable, but extremely stylish TV stand it's sitting on isn't included. Feel free to ask any questions, and Thanks for Looking!
