Original American Flyer from 1952 only. Close to perfect, all original & fully intact, no rust. Patina & lettering very nice and bright. Cleaned and ready to go. Overall, it looks brand new. The nicest 4 part roof one that we ever found. The red painted roof is much nicer than the dull common bakelite roofs. In 40 years of collecting, we have only seen a few of these. They are that rare. And this one is the upgrade to the best one and last one in our collection.
This is the very rare, four part roof American Flyer 274 Harbor Junction. It is believed to be from the very first production run and very few ever turn up, especially fully intact and all original. Very soon after the initial four part roof run, American Flyer switched to the common bakelite molded roof. Another unique feature is the yellow painted wooden roof sign. Further, the brown base is a much lighter shade of brown and the yellow building is also a different shade than the usual Harbor Junction yellow. This one is fully intact and looks brand new: about as nice as they come. It has the two part door and windows which identifies it as a 1952 version. This one looks just about perfect. We couldn't find any marks or damage at all. All signs and parts look very crisp and new. The patina is exceptional and all parts are original. . These red painted roofs are much nicer and brighter than the dull bakelite roofs. The original box is very nice also and probably an 8 on a 1-10 scale. Bricklike, bright cardboard, no tears, all flaps and nice lettering and no writing on it. It even has some of the original wrapping tissue included. Overall the best of the best and a very rare addition to any collection. Please see photos to confirm condition.
