This sweet child's Victorian style armchair is beautifully proportioned and constructed, carved with wild roses on the top back crest the deeply tufted in a soft, dusty aquamarine velvet, and finished with elegant cabriole legs and scrolled feet.
Floral and leafy motifs in the wood, probably mahogany, are nicely carved and distinct. The chair is most likely American, made in the 1930s or 1940s, and ideal for kiddies up to age 5 or 6. Graceful and comfy, the armchai...r measures 21 1/2 inches tall, 16 1/4 inches wide at arms, and a seat 12 Inches deep by 10 inches wide and 8 1/2 inches above the floor.
Velvet upholstery is generally in good condition, considering age and use, except for a rubbed area inside front right arm (could be covered with a lacy doily) and minor fading of color into a nice dusty blue green. (For best idea of color, see pic #6 of chair from above.) Wood in excellent condition - no scratches, rubs or dings. Tufting and all buttons tight and secure.
