VINTAGE GUNDLACH PORTRAIT LENS, 360mm F:5 SER. A. BRASS, Fully Functional and clear. This lens is a survivor, originally manufactured in the 1920's. This lens is similar to the Wollensak Vesta of the same era, but preferred by those who know the difference. Cosmetically, there are many chips and imperfections in the black lacquer coating, but no dings or other cosmetic issues. The diaphragm works, but is stiff. (I would be stiff too if I had no exercise for 100 years!). I have read tha...t these are convertible (like more modern Symmars), by removing the front element. Optically, the glass is surprisingly clear with no scratches, fungus, separations or cleaning marks. I am not a store or collector. My goal is to represent my items as honestly and accurately as possible. Life is too precious for EBAY scams or disappointed buyers. Questions, please ask.Good luck in your search.Michael

The aperture ring is not split, that is the index mark on the ring. The diaphragm does move smoothly, but may not form a perfect circle at smaller openings. This lens has not seen the light of day for many many decades, and could use some "exercise." The lens hood, front and rear elements do disassemble easily.
