This Chippendale style mahogany corner cabinet was produced by the Rockford National Furniture Co. in Rockford, Ill. some time in the mid to late 1940s. Unusually short, this piece was designed for the new, growing middle class and for apartment dwellers. Featuring a mahogany body and its original glass fitted under elegant fretwork, it is capped with the ever-popular Chippendale broken pediment with central urn finial and has tapered, reeded legs with a short arrow foot. The third foo...t in the rear is of a similar shape but is not reeded as the front feet are. The upper cabinet features a mint green painted interior with three triangular shelves, no pulls, but does feature a slim brass escutcheon and matching key. The bottom cupboard features lovely crotch mahogany veneer with brass Hepplewhite double post pulls. Inside, there is a single shelf with a plate ledge and a worn sticker with the maker's mark visible. This piece measures 73" high, 30" wide, 21" deep, and weighs between 15 - 20lbs. This piece is in good to very good condition, displaying the typical signs of cosmetic wear for something of this age and use. Please consult all images and message with any questions.
