Vintage Leica M3 DS Early 1955 Camera Body W/M Meter & Case; 1 Owner; SN 748008. Bought 19 Aug 1955 by my great uncle for my father while abroad in Germany at Photohaus an der Alster in the Hotel Atlantis, Hamburg Germany (Copy of receipt shown and will be provided). Manuals and photo flash bulb guide are in German (included). Shutter works smoothly from B, 1 to 1/1000 sec. Timer works, tripping the shutter. Includes original spool, and original Leica Leather Case. Rangefinder focus wo...rks with both 50mm and 35mm wide angle lenses my dad used (see separate listings). Silver metal shows mild surface scratches, and is engraved on the front base with an ID number as theft deterrent. Black vulcanite shows very small chip next to the base where the cover latches onto the stud. Very early double stroke, SN 748008 indicates made in Wetzlar and is among first 30, 000 manufactured. This was bought to replace a I to II screw mount conversion. Bought with Summicron 50mm lens (see separate listing). Will also include original Leica flash cable. Also includes original Leica M-Meter with front light flap, SN 028985, also bought with camera in 1955. It also has an engraved ID number on the back base as a theft deterrent.
