Original Description:
French striking Empire portico gilt bronze and marble mantel clock @ 1890.  This is a very nice one owner clock that came out of an estate recently, where it was meticulously maintained, and in regular use.  The clock has excellent gilding to all of the brass parts.  The variegated gray marble is in excellent undamaged condition.  Measures 15" tall x 8 1/2" wide x 4 1/4" deep.  There is one partial crack in one of the gilded brass column bases (photoed), and th...e 4 feet don't match - the two at the front match one another, while the two at the back match one another, but the two pairs are different from one another.  All 4 feet are old and good, and the difference is not really noticeable unless scrutinized.  The fancy convex porcelain dial is excellent.  Great original gilt bronze hands.  The convex glass in the bezel is good, but does have some chips at the outside edge.  The 8 day striking movement is complete and intact with good mainsprings.  It runs and strikes fine, but is quite dirty, and should be serviced to be a reliable running clock.  Sold as it is without any warranty.  With original sunburst pendulum and winding key.  No reserve.  UPS ground shipping in the continental USA will be $35.00.
