Item DescriptionThis beautiful handcrafted textile is an authentic handmade piece from Oaxaca, Mexico. It has been made with same old traditional techniques like hundreds of years ago.I added two photos of the house where this textile was made. Its authentic and original native ethnic art and each piece is unique. The yarn is made by hand, than they color the yarn with natural ingredients, after they dry it and then they make the textile. A piece like this represents tradition and cult...ure, just think about all the time it takes to make the yarn, to collect the ingredients to make the colors, to make the colors, to paint and dry the yarn and then to make the textile complete by hand without any electronic devises.This piece shows many turtles all in different colors, this rug be used as a carpet or as a wall hanging, its two sided, it can be washed and the colors won’t go away, I just picked it up last week direct from the artisans, its new and never used. This kind of native art craft is sadly disappearing and these pieces we just find in museums and very rare for sale.
