Expert Navajo twill weaver Marie Keeof Pinon, Arizona wove this Churro convergent diagonals twill saddleblanket. The diagonal lines converge to the center in each half. Eachend and across the center stripes have 4 gray, tealand white feathers on a black background. The corners have a tealcross on a gray background. The diagonals are woven with gray, redand white. We hand dyed the black, redandtealcolors. The gray& white are natural, neither dyed nor bleached. All weft is Churro Na...vajo sheepsingle-ply, wool yarn. The warp is strong, 2-ply, white wool. Both edges are finished with 3 x2-ply red cords (“weftselvage cords”). Both ends have 2 x 2-ply tealcords (“warp selvages”). “Warp selvage” is the name for theend cords which are used to set up the loom. These cords maintain thewarp loops in position and determine the space between the warpthreads in the rug. Please contact us within 3 days of auction's close.
