Original Feedsack from the 1940's, These feedsacks have been washed, ironed, folded and put away for years. How can I tell they were washed? Well, the ends are frayed, and were left like that. This is typical feedsack fabric, a slightly heavy woven cotton, very sturdy fabric. This particular piece, if you look closely at it, has a woven texture to the fabric, almost like a gabardine, but not quite. Just a woven stripe, that doesn't show up unless yo...u look at it closely. I found these at the estate of a quilter.
This one is so pretty! Blue and yellow flowers, calico design, on a red background. A sweet design, typically 1940's. I can see this design being made into a dress for a little one, Or even a skirt for an older girl. Perhaps a shorts set. Definitley a good clothing print. Of course all of these prints would be suitable for quilting also.
