This is not a toy. This is the original sales model of a Bucyrus Erie 60S Crawler Loader, which never went into production due to cost. It was a crawler mounted swing loader. Only 2 pilot prototypes were ever built for testing in 1967 and were tested in an iron mine and a quarry. Its parallelogram front end crowded the 9-ft. wide, 5-yd. bucket into the face at any level without the machine moving.The crawlers are not designed to move. It was designed and used as a sales model by Bucyru...s and shipped to a customer for sales purposes to show what the full sized machine looked like. It was designed with a fast swing, a high dump and long reach which is shown in the pictures. The crowd, reach, swing and high dump reduced the load time. The model's bucket can be positioned to any point in it range for display purposes by raising or lowering the front end. It can also be swung to any position for display. I don’t know the scale it was built to but the model length is 22” from front of cab to very rear of model. The model height from ground to top of cab is 13”. The model width of crawlers is 9 ½”. The model had some damage at one time but was repaired. It still has the original paint.This is the only one that was that was ever built. It will ship in its original wooden shipping container and well packed to avoid damage. The first picture is a pilot proto type working in a quarry.This is the only one ever built. I would liked to have more room for pictures, but it is at the limit.
