This is a Japanese sword wakizashi in shirasaya mountings. The blade is signed "Tanba-no kami Yoshimichi with Kiku mon (Chrysanthemum crest) 菊紋 丹波守吉道" , shinogi zukuri shape, Edo period ca. 1650 era made blade. It came with NBTHK Tokubetsu Kicho paper, submitted in Sep., 19, 1970. The blade is in full polish, no rust, no stain and in mint condition. The temper line is wavy&nb...sp;gunome-choji with sudareba active temper and has deep temper at the point. The forging grain is tight itame-hada, no openings , no blister and no forging flaws at all. There is no bend, no crack and cutting edge is sharp. It is rested in ho-wood shirasaya mountings with silver foiled habaki, no crack, no dent and in good condition. It measures 20+3/4" cutting edge, 1+1/4" width, 6.5 mm thickness at the notch and 29+1/2" in mountings. Shipping is $15 priority mail in U.S. Payment due within 3 days auction end.
