"THE PRESIDENT'S LADY" (1953) based on the novel by Irving Stone is a dramatic recreation of the tempestuous life of Andrew Jackson, from wooing and winning his wife (portrayed by Susan Hayward), to fights and duels and battles with attacking tribes all on the way to the Presidency of the United States. It's a great outdoors film with a sprawling story to tell. Co-stars include John McIntyre and Fay Bainter. As an added bonus, there's a great rousing score by Alfred Newman.
Acc...ording to a review on IMDb where it has a 6.9 rating: "The acting and technical aspects are surprisingly good, and it's one of the rare classic biopics that doesn't feel cheesy or melodramatic."
The print is in very good condition with light wear, a variable area soundtrack and no major flaws. It is complete from the 20th Century Fox logo to the fade out at 96 minutes on two very full 1600' metal reels. The contrast is terrific (not really visible from the screen grabs) and the image is sharp. There is no warp or vinegar.
