For film collectors and sports fans, here is a unique film rarity: a vintage edition of the NFL Play-By-Play report, from November, 22, 1964, when the San Francisco 49'ers traveled to Chicago to take on the Bears. This was a tough day for both teams, with Chicago winning 23-21. This film unusually contains both silent and sound footage. The opening, and all on-the-field footage is silent, obviously for use with local, play-by-play announcers. Then, suddenl...y, commercials appear, with sound. Ads include Mennen Deodorant (featuring Johnny Morris and Doug Atkins of the Chicago Bears), Budweiser Beer (featuring Ed McMahon), Mennen Citation After Shave and Sof' Stroke Shaving Cream, and Newport Cigarettes. The show's NFL closing also has sound. This 16mm print has single perforated film stock and Ektachrome color of the action. The commercials are in either black and white or faded color. The film is mounted on a 1200' reel. Images posted are actual screenshots taken from the very item being offered here. No vinegar odor, so bid with confidence.
