German M40 WWII Style Type Steel Helmet.
Helmet itself has no marking, Liner is marked M-1943 (though it is now very faded). Helmet was purchased in west Germany during a trip in the mid 1970's. Research of items has lead me to believe the item is either a reproduction or was a postwar made helmet produced for an unknown organization. I do not believe the marking of M-1943 is NOT indicative of the year of production and is most likely either some king of production... number or put there to make people believe it was made in 1943. In any case it is a very nice helmet in excellent shape.
