For Auction.....From our family doll collectors we have for your consideration this beautiful "Vintage NIB" Elise ballerina doll by Madame Alexander. Having been stored away in this old family home for many years, she has not been played with and is in excellent condition. Elise has a vinyl head and arms and a plastic torso and legs. Her body is jointed at the neck, shoulders, hips, knees, and ankles. In the information inside her wrist tag it is stated that she... is "made entirely of plastic." She is loose, but is otherwise perfect!
On the nape of her neck...ALEXANDER C 1964
On her back...MME ALEXANDER
Elise has lovely blonde hair...parted in the middle with bangs, swept up at temples, and curls gathered up at the neck, and she wears a headband of pink flowers with green leaves. Her curls in back are flattened from positioning. Elise' pretty blue sleep eyes are nice and clear and function properly with all brush lashes intact. Her complexion and facial coloring are perfect, and she has lovely pink fingernails.
Elise is wearing a lovely white satin and tulle ballet dress. The sleeveless satin bodice is trimmed in white tulle at the armholes and the neckline. White satin ribbon accents the waist and ties in a bow in the back. The tulle skirt is a double layer of pleated tulle accented with pink flowers, and a tulle ruffle trims the attached boy-leg pants. Elise has on pink tights and pink satin ballet slippers.
Elise' is wearing beautiful "diamond" drop earrings.
On the dress tag...Elise * MADAME ALEXANDER *REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. N.Y. U.S.A.
From her left wrist hangs Elise's Madame Alexander tag which reads on the front...ELISE R created by Madame Alexander
On the inside of the tag Elise refers to herself as a "beautiful debutante."
Issues with the box are corner dings and rubs, some age discoloration and two split corners of the lid.
On the box label...ELISE STYLE 1720
On the label end of the box the original retail tag reads...BELK STORES 23-8410 No. 5 A/241 $14.99
BELK was department store in Greensboro, North Carolina, where my husband's grandmother and two aunts shopped for dolls for their collections and for toys for their many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
