This fantastic and rare antique CHINESE BRONZE SCULPTURE FIGURE of a Male with nice detail. He is beating on an object (?).
I first thought this was cast iron bcuz of the black color, however when i scratched the base i saw a bronze color under the black patina (see last pic). It is heavy like bronze . But that's all I know. I urge the winning bidder to scratch or file a small part on the underside of the base to see the bronze underneath.
I do not... know exactly how old he is but appears to have signs of major age. My guess is late 19th - early 20th Cent. Maybe u know ??? If I am wrong, please send me a comment with correction.

It unfortunately has a damaged cracked base (see detail). It does however fit together so u can stand him up. Slightly tricky but it works. The previous owner glued it together but it then separated. U can see the very old glue used. it is in the orig condition i acquired it in. I think u could have it tack welded from below without ever seeing the repair. The nose may have been professionally repaired due to the fall that broke the base???
