A beautiful antique handmade brass saucepan with original lid, this fine example features lovely iron strap loop handle affixed each end. This pot is given a zinc? internal finish making this safe for cooking with food. Some light surface rusting inside the base however this should scrub off with fine steel wool?, and it could probably even be safely used again today, once given a good scrub within?!No makers marks I can see- however this kind of quality cookware is often of French ma...nufacture? The lovely tactile handmade quality of the piece is really only appreciated when handled..A lovely item which would display as beautifully as it would serve as cookware in the home… Indeed hanging from a galley kitchen old brass and copper ware such as this can really make a rustic themed kitchen!Diameter at upper rim 22.5cm plus handle ends.
