This is a small one-bud vase with a hand painted design of a flying dragon from the mid Qing Dynasty (c. 1700). It is signed on the bottom, Shinkatsu (see pictures 6 & 7 ). Please view the closeup photos to admire the beautiful dragon design! On close inspection one can see the bubble formations that indicate it is pre-industrial hand ground glaze.It measures 3" in diameter at its widest by 4" tall (7.5 x 10 cm). With exception to a repaired top area (see last pic...ture ), this vase remains in overall good condition.
