Here we have a Vintage Mayhew No.700 13 1/2" Flat Head Screwdriver w/ Wood Handle & Steel Cap. I don't know if this is a rare screwdriver or not but while I can find quite a few examples of drivers from other companies, with the same features and that look very similar to this one, I can't find any examples of this exact Mayhew branded screwdriver. Take that any way you like but it means rare to me. The driver shows signs of normal use, wear, and age. See the pictures and feel free... to ask questions. Actually, I have a question for you. What is the heavy steel cap on the handle for. I understand it's for hitting with a hammer, but I thought you weren't really supposed to do that with screwdrivers. My grandfather always used other tools to do things like that and would yell at me for messing up his tools if he caught me doing it. Any ideas?
