This rare Seymchan pallasite meteorite weighs in at 12.1 grams!This is an etched slice. It displays a detailed Widmanstatten pattern on the etched surface.Initial mass of about 300 kg was found by geologist F. A. Mednikov in 1967. It was found in a stream bed near the town of Seymchan , 150 km southeast of the find. A second expedition in 2004 resulted in an additional specimens with a mass of about 51 kg. Originally classified as an iron (llE), the classification was changed to pallas...ite when the internal structure of some pieces displayed olivine.
