Up for auction is a MUSEUM QUALITY 19THC KPM BERLIN TOPOGRAPHICAL PORCELAIN LARGE TEA CUP SAUCER. One of two very fine examples being offered in this weeks estate auction. A truly superb example that is extraordinary well painted throughout. The large oversized cup has a beautiful large estate landscape with some of the finest hand painted details we have personally seen on such an example. The cup itself is also richly gold gilt, finished with both matte and gloss gold gilt work as seen. The handle is also finely made with a great figural face to the interior handle. A truly fine investment-quality example that we believes not often found, mostly when being offered Without Reserve!
Condition: Estate-fresh with minor chip to underside saucer rim and minor gliding wear consistent with early age. The cup and saucer are otherwise in substantially fine condition with no further chips, no cracks or repairs. The scene is in very fine condition with no wear or losses. UV light also reveals no hidden damage.
Size: An impressive oversize example with the cup measuring 5 inches long by 4 1/8 wide at the top rim, by 4 7/8 inches tall to the top of the handle. The saucer measuring 6 3/4 inches wide.
