GALENA W/ PYRARGYRITE, PYRITE, SPHALERITE - - Highland Bell Mine, BC, Canada - - Rich
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:4520732 |
This piece shows bright galena cleavages intergrown with brassy pyrite, presumed dark sphalerite and bright massive pyrargyrite (best viewed as the fine-grained material). There is quite a bit of pyrargyrite present... on the specimen. I got this from a retired geologist at his garage sale---he had dozens of other ore specimens but those were not labeled and had no locality information with them...uggghhhh. I would have bought them all if he knew their localities!
The Highland Bell closed in 1991 but not before producing much gold, lead, silver and zinc. It is perhaps best known for its wire silver specimens that have found their way into collections. Canadians don't let too many of these leave the country and they are always in great demand. This piece is an excellent and rich ore sample from a classic Canadian locality!
Please check my feedback and my other items. All specimens are carefully wrapped, come with complete and accurate labels and are quickly shipped. As always, your complete satisfaction is unconditionally guaranteed and I even offer FREE return shipping on any item that fails to satisfy for any reason---you can't go wrong. I'm reminded of the firm pledge printed on the old Foote Mineral Company mineral catalogs from more than a century ago,
"Quality of specimens is assured as we permit return of specimens at our expense."
Thanks for looking!
