A GOOD, ANTIQUE VICTORIAN GENTLEMAN'S ENGLISH LEVER SILVER POCKET WATCH WILLIAM EHRHARDT c1886 A good, antique, Victorian gentleman's sterling silver cased Pocket Watch made in Birmingham by William Ehrhardt and dating from c1886.
This watch is a good example, in nice condition and in good working order.
The English made, sterling silver case is in good condition, all covers opening and closing tightly as they sho...uld. It has full English hallmarks for sterling silver. The maker's mark "WE" for William Ehrhardt, the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the anchor Birmingham town mark and the date letter "m" for 1886/87. The rear of the case with engine turned engraving and a central cartouche that is free of initials. The white enamel dial is in very good condition. It has the hours in Roman numerals and a sub-seconds dial at six o'clock.
The good quality, full plate, English Lever movement is engraved with the serial number and "Warranted English Lever". The movement complete with dust cover. It is in excellent working order. It is key wind and set with the key provided.
The watch measures 51mm in diameter (across the case, excluding the winding crown). The weight is 124.0g.
Overall, this is a very good example, it would make a lovely addition to any collection.
