Quite Well Smoked Hilson Burgund 106 9mm Filter 1/3 Bent Brandy.
Item History & Price
This is a quite well smoked Refurbished 1/3 Bent Hilson Burgund 106 Brandy 9mm Filter Pipe. Hilson roots were with German Jean Knudgen who began making clay pipes in Bree Belgium in 1846. The Hillen family married into the Knudgens, the Hilson Brand established post second world war by Jos and Albert Hi...llen. In 1980 Hilson were declared bankrupt, and were bought by E.L.Gubbels and the Royal Dutch Pipe Co. This Burgund is certainly post 1980 and Netherlands Made, the briar stained a bright Burgundy has wonderful Mixed graining, and lots of tiny "Knocking Out"marks, the bowl rim has slight wear but is still intact. The flattened oval saddle stem has the Hilson H logo, takes a 9mm Filter, and is in lovely used condition. The bowl was reamed and cleansed, the stem was fully sanitized to make the pipe ready to smoke as soon as you receive it, before the whole pipe was lightly polished and waxed to give the still lovely finish you can see in the photos. The pipe draws and will smoke perfectly, it sits so snugly in the hand, balanced and tactile.
Thanks for looking and as usual I will combine postage if you buy more than one of my items from this auction. European tracked postage is £9.85 and for the rest of the world is £11.85......I have had to increase charges following Royal Mail price increases in April but will still combine any number of pipes for the price of one.
