Fibrous ZINKENITE Crystal Cluster - - San Jose Mine, Bolivia - - Classic Material
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:44309347 | Country/Region of Manufacture: Bolivia |
Zinkenite is a lead antimony sulfide and the San Jose mine has furnished the world's finest specimens. Some of the larger specimens, with stout crystals, are easily mistaken for stibnite and are world class. I missed the boat on these s...everal years ago when many were available on the market---I never see them anymore. This piece is a compacted mass of acicular crystals without matrix. The crystals are very reflective and the sheen is quite obvious when turned in the hand.
I've had very few San Jose mine zinkenite specimens and pick them up whenever available. From the US, I've had quite a few from the Damon and Pythias mine in Washington (courtesy of the late Bart Cannon) and quite a few massive and rich specimens from the Brobdignag mine in Colorado.
Please check my feedback and my other eBay items. All specimens are carefully wrapped, come with complete and accurate labels and are quickly shipped. As always, your complete satisfaction is unconditionally guaranteed and I even offer FREE return shipping on any item that fails to satisfy for any reason---you can't go wrong. I'm reminded of the firm pledge printed on the old Foote Mineral Company mineral catalogs from more than a century ago,
"Quality of specimens is assured as we permit return of specimens at our expense."
