This pair of Skookum Indian dolls was likely a store display. The have been in a family collection for many years, dating back to the 1940s. They are unusual as their clothing is leather, rather than the cloth and blanket found on most. The leather is still soft and supple, but does have some marking/staining (please see pictures); beading is in tack and fringe is in very good condition. The hair on the dolls is mohair and in great shape. Feathers an...d headbands are also in tack and in very good condition. The female doll has on a leather dress with leather leggings underneath, the male has a leather tunic and leather pants.
