Welcome! For auction is this clay or pottery powder flask. It looks to be a low fired material. Measures appx. 5 3/8" long at the largest dimension. I really have no idea about this piece. It is totally out of my field and came from an  estate sale. I don't know if this is period or not, or if they made copies of these anywhere. I cannot seem to find another one anywhere online and cannot compare it to anything, but I will say it looks old, and the estate it came from did have a l...arge amount of military-related antiques and memorabilia. The color of the images is a bit bright, but the first two images are what I would say is the closest to the actual color. There is a large spiderweb type crack on the un-decorated side, which continues a bit to the neck, and which I attribute to the firing of the piece. There is a smaller crack in the loop at the bottom. Dust, dirt and wear throughout. Small nicks and pockmarks, and mottled coloration. CSA is etched in the face on one side, which I assume stands for Confederate States of America. Impressed designs on sides and neck. Some small flakes in surface where inclusions caused this to happen during firing. Some small firing cracks or stress lines in this side as well. Again, totally out of my field, so I am hoping that the Ebay community knows what this is. As such, I have started it at 9.99. Shipping is via Fedex Ground and sales tax charged as applicable.
