Here we have a outstanding Pojoaque Pueblo polychrome large Vase by Joe and Thelma Talachy. The Talachy gathered natural materials to create there color pigments. These rich colors are made from clay, rocks and sand. Black is wild spinach. This vase is big it measures approximately 10 1/2" tall X 9" across x 6" across the opening. It is in very good condition with only a few very small scuff marks and there name on the bottom. It was bought 2/13/1992 for $1675.00 from McGee's Indi...an Den in Scottsdale. Intricately designed and beautifully crafted, Joe and Thelma Talachy at there best. Thelma Gutierrez was born in 1942 at Santa Clara Pueblo and grew up there. However, her family's ancestral roots were at Pojoaque Pueblo and she later moved there. Joe Talachy was also born and raised at Santa Clara Pueblo and he moved to Pojoaque Pueblo with Thelma after he married her. ,
