Description/Interesting Notes: A rare and unusual example of "hair copper" from this classic Michigan locale!!! This specimen consists of an elongated mass of cleaved calcite that hosts a very rich showing of elongated, copper "hairs"!!! Upon close study ...the finely crystallized, elongated hairs are all oriented along the specimen's long axis!!! The calcite exhibits marked luster with slight translucence and sharply defined ceavage faces!!! This specimen retains an affixed catalogue number from the A. E. Seaman Mineral Museum indicating that it came from the collection of Thomas B. Whittle (1845-1912) Quincy Mine mining captain from 1889 to 1912!!! Rare and unusual old time material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
