 Excellent ExampleSculptural Sikhote Alin Meteorite 39.3g “The Old Man” “TheOld Man” 39.2 gram excellent example of a Sikhote AlinCoarsest Iron Octahedrite meteorite from the Maritime territory of Russia thatfell February 12, 1947.  This specimen isvery interesting in that, while traveling at hypersonic speeds through theEarth's atmosphere the ablative process has naturally sculpted this specimen.  Zoomorphic meteorites that resemble a personor animal a...re highly cherished among advanced collectors. This attribute makesthis specimen very collectable thus making it worth a great deal more.  The starting price is far below what it would realize in a reputable auction house.
