Tourmaline var. Rubellite with Albite var. CleavlanditeMalkhan pegmatite field, Krasnyi Chikoy, Chitinskaya Oblast, Zabaykalsky Krai, Russia 7.65cm x 4.6cm x 4.55cm243 grams
Description/Interesting Notes: A gorgeous example of rubellite tourmaline from this famed Russian locale!!! This specimen consists of a large, compound rubellite tourmaline crystal that exhibits magnificent, deep magenta-red color and is aesthetically compliment...ed by a small amount of stark white albite accenting the terminations!!! The crystal exhibits striking deep magenta red color with some characteristic peachy-pink tones visible in the core with strong backlighting!!! The crystal exhibits brilliant, glassy luster with sharp, modified terminations!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe or scope the complex surfaces features on the termination faces are actually comprised of networks of minute, triangular faces!!! This specimen is complete, in magnificent condition all around, and displays gorgeously in person!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
