Juvenile Tyrannosaurus Rex Tooth Dinosaur Fossil Hell Creek MT

This listing is for a beautiful juvenile Tyrannosaurus Rex dinosaur tooth from the Hell Creek Formation of MT. The serrations are very large and the base of the tooth is fairly round. The enamel is a little worn along with some of the serrations but this tooth looks to be from a young T Rex. There is obviously a debate on whether Nanotyrannus is a separate genus of T Rex but regardless of the debate this looks more like a scaled down Rex tooth than a Nanotyrannus toot...h. Identification of teeth like this is very tricky especially with an incomplete fossil record in the Hell Creek. At some point educated guesses are made but there is a possibility this is an abnormally robust Nanotyrannus or from a jaw position where the tooth root is more oval/circular. This tooth measures 1 1/4" in length.This fossil was found in the Hell Creek Formation of Powder River County, MT.The fossil comes with a COA upon request of the buyer.The Hell Creek Formation dates back to the Late Cretaceous approximately 66-68 million years in age. It represent the coastline of an ancient sea that spanned across the middle of North American during much of the Mesozoic Era. That is why dinosaur remains are so common in the American West, those areas were the ancient floodplains of a seaway that no longer exists. Dinosaur like the famous Tyrannosaurus Rex, Triceratops and Pachycephalosaurus were part of this amazing ecosystem. Other dinosaur such as Edmontosaurus, Thescelosaurus, Struthiomimus and Oviraptorids existed here as well. And of course there were the Dromaeosaurs "Raptors) that inhabited this area and preyed upon these species such as Acheropraptor and Dakotaraptor.
