Here offered is the extremely rare male Protelencholax Strepsiptera inclusion in a huge 47 mm Dominican amber (with greenish florescence under the natural light), arranged to the pendant.The genus Protelencholax was established for the single extinct species P. schleei in Dominican amber by Kinzelbach (1979) based on a male specimen. It belongs to the family Elenchidae (which contains three other extant genera) and the genus has a number of plesiomorphic characters in the family. ...Both papers dealt with fossil Strepsiptera by Kinzelbach & Pohl (1994), and Pohl & Kinzelbach (1995) did not mention additional record of the genus.
