Worn Dromaeosaurus Humerus
This rare Humerus (upper arm bone) comes from the theropod, Dromaeosaurus. Dromaeosaurus was a carnivorous dinosaur that had a relatively large brain (by dinosaur standards), large eyes, and grasping hands. The name Dromaeosaurus means "swift running lizard", and this raptor would have been just that, a swift and formidable hunter.
This Dromaeosaurus Humerus was found in two pieces. The pieces were reattached and the fossil... was then stabilized. Both ends of the Humerus have some river wear. The Humerus has nice detail and preservation with a dark brown coloration. All around a nice example of a Dromaeosaurus Humerus that would be a great addition to any fossil collection.
The Dromaeosaurus Humerus measures: 1 3/16" inches wide by 5 3/4" inches in length.
This Dromaeosaurus fossil was dug out of a microsite in the Hell Creek Formation of Carter County, Montana. The humerus was collected on private ranch land with the owner's permission.
