Description/Interesting Notes: An absolutely AMAZING example of precious opal from Mexico!!! Let me start off by saying that this specimen is WAY better than these pictures show - this specimen is one of the most attrative and fiery examples of Mexican opal I have ever seen!!! In person, even in minimal lighting, this specimen is just LOADED with intense, rainbow colored fire!!! ...The opal itself is thick, deep, and gem clear - allowing one to see what appears to be an other-worldly underwater scene within (this was impossible to capture in the pics but is immediately apparent in person)!!! This is a valuable specimen or the exceptional gem rough alone, however it is truly a remarkable specimen in person!!! The opal itself has a slightly blue hue with gem clarity and the rhyolite matrix has a reddish hue, which in itself is a gorgeous pairing in person and provides a gorgeous backdrop for the exceptional rainbow fire within!!!
