Unusually large African Ukhamba Zulu ‘Beer Basket’, hand-woven by Veronica Mhlongo . This Women’s Art-form emerged from the harsh landscape of the Zulu tribal region of South Africa, where indigenous materials are used to create objects of lasting beauty and utility. This item is authentic, made by hand in the traditional way. Finely woven of llala palm fibers, in rich earthen tones created with natural dyes.This is an estate item, belonging to an Artist/Art Professor, and was pu...rchased in late 1990’s- Early 2000’s. Still has tag marked $450.
