CHAMPION ALL AROUND COWBOY10th ANNUAL MEMORIAL RODEOSAN CARLOS, ARIZONA 1976
From what I've found, this was the first All Indian/Apache rodeo, held oct. 23-24 1976.
There is a name engraved in the bottom ribbon. First name has faded completely but most of the last name is readable.&nb...sp;
The letters BECEN*I are visible witch means this belt was won by ARCHIE BECENTI. A famous native americanrodeo cowboy who was active from around 1970-2005. He can be found in the INFR hall of fame.
Old newspaper articles mention Archie winning both the Bareback and the Saddle Bronc events that year.
Condition is good relative to its age. Normal signs of wear and also a few minor dents which I'm sure can be fixedfairly easily.
