Original Description:
Hard to beat a 1920's Sasieni Patent One Dot with the small single baby blue! This one is probably one of the earliest shape 590, a big half bent billiard with quite a bend to the stem. The walls are super thick and the chamber generous. The grain shows beautiful birdseye and super tight cross grain in a warm Sasieni old briar finish. The stem is original and still has the massive stinger. This is the Cadillac of pipes and certainly would have cost a pretty penny when it was new as the...re were not many pipes of this size and the briar quality phenomenal with no fills or flaws. The "SB" stamp is a mystery to me as I believe I have seen it before but do not recall what it stands for. Anyhow, while there are some condition issues as noted below, the pipe remains in overall great condition with a clean and sound chamber. With a large and wide open draft hole drilled perfectly this is destined to become a favorite smoker.
Nomenclature: SASIENI (fishtail script), LONDON MADE, PAT No.150221/20, MADE IN ENGLAND (near tip of shank), 590
Dimensions: 6" Long, 2 1/8" Tall, 13/16" Chamber W, 1 3/4" Chamber D
Condition: Good. Chamber is clean and sound. Rim shows some inner edge darkening, some dings on the front edge, and some wear/rounding on the front edge as well. There are also some dings on the front of the bowl. Stem is excellent and free of oxidation. Overall a beautiful One Dot!
