Extremely rare cabinet card of an identified Apache Scout. It has the back mark of A. Frank Randall. This Indian warrior is identified in period brown ink as Comanche John son of Blue Knife. With his holstered pistol and riflecartridge belt around his waist, the subject strikes a fearsome pose amplified by the feathered buffalo horn headdress.He wears a beautifully beaded and buckskin fringed shirt, beaded awl case, beaded moccasins, etc. He is holdinga mirror b...oard with brass tacks. Randall's photographs of the Apache Scouts employed by the US Army are unsurpassed. The image is in excellent condition, sharp and clear with no defects. Size is 5 1/4" X 8 1/2".
