This antique Chinese embroidered Eight Immortals Deities seed pearl coral beaded robe dates from the 19th century, during the Qing Dynasty. It is made of a lilac purplish pink color silk damask weave brocade fabric with a woven floral roundels medallions, white and blue silk fabric c...ut out appliqued colorful raised padded satin stitch hand embroidered trim edging with a variety of birds, insects, flowers and gold thread couching work. The robe has royal blue silk trim, collar, wide sleeve band cuffs with white silk appliqued colorful finely hand embroidered figures of Chinese Deities, Gods, Goddesses, money frog, Eight Immortals framed in hand sewn tiny coral, seed pearls. This magnificent Manchu womens formal robe has a long mid length loose fitting style with side opening black silk knotted button toggles, side slit vents, wide long full sleeves, Mandarin collar and is fully lined in a blue silk fabric inside. The robe measures 37 inches long, with a 44 inch chest, 68 inch bottom waist and a 14 inch wide sleeve cuff. It is in good as-is condition, with a few faint small stains on the lilac fabric, slight soiling inside the neck collar lining, fraying along the sleeve cuffs edging and missing, loose coral, pearl beading in areas (see close-ups). This is truly an exceptional one of a kind piece of antique Chinese wearable art!
