Military medal germany WW II: medalla militar alemana II segunda guerra mundial | Country/Region of Manufacture: Germany |
It is estimated that some 10, 000 Romanians fought in Russia as volunteers.
The medal is 100% authentic and is in good condition, with the tape somewhat worn by use and time.
The medal is 31.5 mm in diameter. The obverse shows a raised fist ...sword representative of the campaign. The same side also shows the date 1941 and around its circumference is written Cruci ÎMPOTRIVA COMUNISMULUI. The reverse features the Romanian symbol of freedom and the phrase RECUNOSCATOARE ROMANIA ("Romania is grateful.") It is noteworthy that under the symbol of freedom there is a small marquilla with the name "P. Grant". The medal is accompanied by his band that is red, bordered by the center in white, with Romania's national colors, red, yellow and blue.
It is noteworthy that this medal was made by German company CE Junker of Berlin.
Along with the photos attached announcement and back side of the medal, as well as three photos can be seen curious where Romanians volunteers wearing German uniform badge on their uniforms this campaign. The photos are not included in the batch. I'm just offering the medal.
