Huge Leptoceratops Tooth
This rare tooth comes from the dinosaur, Leptoceratops. Leptoceratops, the most primitive known Protoceratopsid, would have grown to a length of around 6 feet as an adult. What is known about Leptoceratops comes from three complete skulls, two partial skulls, and skeletons both juvenile and adult. The name Leptoceratops means "slender horned face".
This amazing Leptoceratops tooth was found in one piece needing no restoration.&nb...sp; The tooth has a little natural feeding wear on its crown. The Leptoceratops tooth has great detail and preservation with a dark brown coloration. This nice Leptoceratops tooth would be a great addition to any fossil collection.
The Leptoceratops tooth measures: 1/2" of an inch wide by 13/16" of an inch in length.
This Leptoceratops tooth was dug out of a microsite in the Hell Creek Formation of Carter County, Montana. The tooth was collected on private ranch land with the owner's permission.
