Hello, many thanks for viewing our auctions! We hope everyone is having a pleasant holiday season. Seeing many people are home this year we decided to host a large two-week holiday special estate auction! We have been working hard over the last month putting together several amazing estate collections that we will be offering over the next month.&nbs...p;
Joanies is excited to be offering two large family estate collections. The first family lived in Shanghai and came to Canada c1932, the second family in c1960 bring a vast amount of family items with them at the time so the provenance is very good. We have offered a large amount of items from the second family’s collection already that brought great interest. We thought this estate was complete until we got a call that the garage was also full of boxes packed away and never opened since 1960! This is now for certain the last estate sale from the family.
Over the past 20 years Joanies has hosted Hundreds of estate auctions, auctioning upwards of one hundred thousand fine estate items during this time. And during this entire time, Joanie's has Never had a Reserve on one item ever! We take great pride in only offering fine quality and authentic fresh to market estate items that we know have been with families for decades or generations. Up for auction is a RARE 18TH TO 19TH CENTURY CHINESE BRONZE SILVER INLAID ARCHAIC DRAGON BRONZE CENSER BOWL. A very interesting and unique example that we believe would date from the 18th to 19th century. Intricately carved with archaic dragon mask designs and inlaid silver wire work. We believe an example that is not often found.
Condition: Estate-fresh, could use a cleaning if desired the censer is otherwise in substantially good condition for its antique age as seen.
Size: Measuring 5 inches long by 3 3/4 inches wide and 2 3/8 inches tall. The censer weighs 402 grams.
