Catawba Indian Pottery King Hagler Book Ends By Georgia Harris
Item History & Price
About half of Tom's pottery resides in the archive of the Native American Studies Center in Lancaster, SC. The other half..., about 1000 pcs, are here with me at our home in Columbia. Tom passed away on April of 2018, and I am now selling off some of the collection, bit by bit to subsidize two books that I am writing. One on Tom;s life and life's work and the other on Tom's passion for art, both collecting it and creating it.These are a interesting pair of bookends.
They were done by Georgia Harris and marked very unusually as: "Made by Georgie Harris Catawba S.C."According to the acquisition card I found with the piece. Tom purchased these bookends from Earl and Viola Robbins in 1995.They measure approximately: 4.25" wide, 4.5" deep, and 8" high to the top of the feather headdress.PLEASE STUDY THE PHOTOS AS THEY FORM A MAJOR PART OF THE DESCRIPTION.
Note, I just added two photos of one of the bookends. The nose of one is chipped, however, due to the maker and the rarity, I feel that this is a minor issue.
