This is a very cool fossil! It is a very nice Stingray fossil from Wyoming. The 'Ray is Heliobatis radians, one of the most sought-after fossils found in the Green River Formation. This particular specimen is a female, as it is lacking t...he mating graspers the male stingrays possess. This Stingray has very nice color and excellent detail, and contrasts strikingly with the buff-colored matrix. The "Ray has the stinger barbs intact, and is complete down to the tiny tip of the tail. The Stingray is beautifully showcased on the large, squared matrix plate, ready for framing! (The back is reinforced with cardboard, perfect for framing.) This is an excellent example of a rare stingray fossil that can not only be be part of your fossil collection, but also proudly displayed in your home or office!A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS.com is included with this item.
