Offered here is a vintage Rolex GMT-Master, Ref. 6542, the very first generation of GMT-Master produced by Rolex, with early gilt service dial aged to a beautiful tropical brown color, circa 1959, offered at no reserve!Reference/Model: Rolex GMT-Master, Ref. 6542Case: Stainless SteelDimensions (excluding crown): 38mmFunction: Time, DateCaliber: Cal. 1065
Condition Report: The case has been polished in the past, and some beveled edges visible. The g...ilt Rolex service dial is in great condition, with no damage or marks, and still very glossy, aged to a great brown color, which looks more brown in person (hard to photograph). The dial and hands retain their original tritium. Bezel is original brass bezel, but insert is a later Rolex service insert. Watch is running, but service history is unknown, and the watch has not been timed/tested in detail, so a service is recommended at buyer's expense. Serial and reference numbers show some wear/fade from bracelet wear. Caseback stamped "6542" and "III.59", and is presumably a replacement. Bracelet is a Rolex Oyster 7836 with 358 endlinks and has 13 full links and light stretch.____________________________________________________________________Please feel free to email me with any questions, but please ask all questions prior to bidding.
