Hay Budden anvils are renowned for their functionality and looks. This one is no exception, and is in wonderful condition. The entire top half is tool steel, unlike later anvils. The face is almost dead flat, with only a little roughage on the crisp edges. Ball-bearing drop test indicates a lively top with no dead spots. Great ring and rebound. A super candidate for knife work.
