FINELY DETAILED 19THC JAPANESE MEIJI BRONZE EAGLE BIRD FIGURE SEAL MARKEDNO RESERVE ESTATE TREASURES AUCTION inc FINE ASIAN ARTS Hello, thank you for having a look at our auctions! Up for auction is a very fine Japanese bronze eagle bird on perch. This figure is a very fine old example that would date from the 19th century, I believe likely Meiji or possibly even Edo period. The eagle figure is completely handmade with superb life-like qualities. The bronze has a beautiful and consistent patina throughout. The base is also signed with an artist’s seal mark.
The eagle figure is in very fine condition with no damage or repairs of any kind. The figure has been very well looked after. The eagle is a great example to displays measuring 13 1/2 inches tall, by 12 1/2 inches wide across the wings. The figure has a substantial solid bronze weight of 2.35 kilograms, or just over 5 pounds. Such examples are becoming exceedingly hard to find, mostly being offered without reserve!
